Data Scientist (TS/SCI + Poly)

Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking a Data Scientist with a TS/SCI Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Reston, VA.  Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

THE PROJECT

The Sponsor conducts strategic research and development and requires support in the evaluation, system design, and software engineering support to transition, primarily open source, software prototypes and algorithms to a secure Sponsor & Partner Cloud Environment infrastructure for deployment throughout the Sponsors organization. The Sponsor also needs support to evaluate and verify software prototypes and algorithms, and package them for transition to partners outside the Sponsors organization.

THE ROLE

• The Contractor shall develop and conduct independent testing and evaluation methods on research-grade algorithms.
• The Contractor shall report results and provide documentation and guidance on working with the research-grade algorithms.
• The Contractor shall integrate and leverage internally-hosted data science tools.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in Python, Javascript, and R.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience employing machine learning and deep learning modules such as Pandas, Scikit, Tensorflow, Pytorch.
• Demonstrated experience with statistical inference, as well as building and understanding predictive models, using machine learning methods.
• Demonstrated experience with large-scale text analytics.

Desired Skills (Optional)

• Demonstrated hands-on experience performing research or development with natural language processing and working with, deploying, and testing large-language models (LLMs) or foundational models
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing and deploying testing and verification methodologies to evaluate algorithm performance and identify strategies for improvement or optimization
• Demonstrated experience deploying machine learning models on multimedia data, to include joint text, audio, video, hardware, and peripherals.
