The Tri-State Deputy Finance Director position plays an integral role in planning and executing an ambitious fundraising plan for major donors in the Tri-State Region of the United States including New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This position will have a particular focus on donor engagement in New Jersey and Connecticut.
This position is based in Washington, DC or New York City. The Tri-State Deputy Finance Director works closely with the Tri-State Finance Director in creating and implementing a region-specific finance plan and the execution of principle and surrogate travel and fundraising events. The Tri-State Deputy Finance Director is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with the top donors in the Tri-State region.
Applicant must be detail-oriented, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and have some political campaign experience. Experience in the Tri-State region is strongly preferred.
- Work closely with the Tri-State Finance Director to create a fundraising strategy for donors and raisers in the region, with a particular focus on New Jersey and Connecticut.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors and raisers in the region.
- Research and identify prospective new major donors and raisers, and work to re-engage lapsed donors.
- Identify hosts and execute events with principals and surrogates in the region.
- Provide support for the execution of travel in the region including scheduling donor meetings and creating briefing memos.
- Manage Tri-State Finance Committee membership and programming for New Jersey and Connecticut.
- Utilize a variety of fundraising strategies, including but not limited to principal call time, direct solicitations, in-person and virtual events to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals.
- Monitor and report out on fundraising progress.
- Assist in the execution of fundraising events in the region.
- Provide support to the Tri-State Finance Director as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission.
- Travel required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- 3-4 years of related work experience; experience working on campaign or political committee fundraising teams for 1-2 cycles strongly preferred.
- Detail oriented and proficient in Google Suite.
- Working knowledge of NGP database.
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Strong and engaging interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in the Tri-State region is preferred.
- Experience executing large fundraising events.
- Experience collaborating with teams.
- Experience working with raisers and bundlers.
- A proactive attitude and ability to plan ahead.
The Tri-State Deputy Finance Director position will require travel, which could be up to 15% of the time.
The starting salary for the Tri-State Deputy Finance Director position is $70,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
