Job Description: The Government Contracts and Business Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing government contracts in the architectural and design sectors across New York State and neighboring regions. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of government procurement processes, local regulations, and a strong background in business development and project bidding.
Responsibilities:
- Actively gathering intelligence on upcoming projects, tender opportunities, and bid pipelines from various government and design-based agencies across New York and nearby states.
- Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential opportunities through strategic networking, relationship building, and market research.
- Leading the preparation, crafting, and timely submission of competitive project bids, with a strong focus on aligning proposals with agency requirements and maximizing the chance of award.
- Developing winning strategies tailored to each bid, ensuring compliance with all government regulations and RFP specifications.
- Engaging in effective negotiation with government agencies to secure favorable contract terms and close deals successfully.
- Managing the end-to-end bid process, from pre-qualification to contract execution, ensuring that all deadlines are met and submissions are professionally delivered.
- Collaborating closely with internal teams to gather technical and commercial inputs necessary for high-quality bid preparation.
- Consistently achieving high win rates and contributing directly to the firm’s growth in the government sector.
Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related fields from an accredited institution. An additional degree or certification in Public Administration or Government Contracting will be advantageous.
- Required Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role (5 years)
- Government Contracting Expertise: Proven track record of successfully securing government contracts in the architectural industry, including experience with state and local agencies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with government officials, clients, and internal teams.
Salary: Base hourly rate compensation model. It's performance-based, with earnings aligned to the number of projects you help secure for the firm.
