What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Daycare Attendant position at The Downtown Paw?
We’re looking for a daycare attendant to help assist in the day to day care of the dogs.
- We offer on site training for understanding dog behavior and body language.
- We pay for staff to be trained in pet CPR/first aid.
- Opportunity for in-house promotions.
- Kennel/dog daycare experience is preferred
Requirements:
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older to apply
- Able to write and speak English fluently
- Able to communicate to customers during phone calls, and in person
- Be able to take direction, and train to our company standards
- Work alone and with a group without issue
Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to work with dogs of all breeds, and temperaments
- Be able to provide basic care for the dogs including:
- making sure they each get adequate water
- feeding when appropriate
- ability to clean up after the dogs including waste matter
- pick up hair and other debris from the facility
- assist in cleaning the daycare rooms, retail, and other areas of the facility
- Ability to move or restrain all breeds dogs, including large breeds
- Flexibility to work in the daycare rooms, and the retail area with customers
- Be able to write reports on any significant changes in dogs, or daycare areas
- Assist in different programs offered by The Downtown Paw to help exercise dogs
- Willingness to talk to pet parents about their dogs day/behavior
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.25 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
