JOB PURPOSE
Teach intermediate and high-intensity Group Fitness classes (HIIT, Boot Camp, etc.) to the 14th Street Y members. Provide high-quality instruction and excellent communication with students.
SCOPE OF INFLUENCE
- Welcomes and works with all member/client groups.
- Works with both internal and external customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job Area/Function 1 (80%)
Fitness Knowledge / Health & Safety Awareness
- Create a safe, unique, and memorable class experience with students
- Guide students through a challenging and level appropriate class
- Maintain neat, professional attire and a courteous, helpful attitude
- Foster and grow strong relationships with 14th Street Y members
- Uphold key values of 14 Street Y team members: accountability, anticipating needs, Positive attitude and atmosphere
Job Area/Function 2 (20%)
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent customer service to all members at all times.
- Address and resolve all member/client questions and issues in a timely, friendly manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Knowledge
- Current Group Fitness Instructor and CPR/AED certifications required
- Ability to teach virtual and in-person.
- Team player and a passion to build relationships with individuals
- Excellent customer service skills handling all matters in a courteous and friendly manner
- Proactive, hands-on approach, as well as a professional work ethic
- Self-motivated, highly efficient, strong attention to details
