What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician position at The Eye Institute?
Optician needed for Ophthalmology/Optometry practice.
Must have at least 2 years of recent experience
Ability to work M-F and able to stay late, if necessary to accommodate patients
Experience submitting claims to vision insurance and Medicaid
ABO Certification preferred but not required
Duties:
Assist patients with eye wear selection
Recommend which lenses and coatings would work best based on patient needs and prescription
Transpose and work with the doctor to recommend contact lenses based on prescription and vertex distance
Contact lens insertion and removal training
Measure for, order, verify, dispense and adjust prescription eye wear.
Repair eye wear.
Maintain an accurate frame inventory.
Meet with frame and contact lens reps to keep inventory current.
