What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development position at The Fischer Group?
The Fischer Group is an end-to-end product development company with product development, machine building, manufacturing, and fulfillment/distribution capabilities.
We are looking for a person to join our Product Development Team to create and design products for our customers within the consumer packaged goods and healthcare industries. Responsibilities and capabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
· Develop original or modify existing product designs
· Work with products from concept through manufacturing
· Gain material performance and attribute knowledge for effective product designs
· Manage product transition/readiness into manufacturing
· Interact with mechanical engineers to understand manufacturability of products during design and prototyping phase
· Build prototypes by hand or using simple machinery
· Manage projects in the development stage
· Interact with customers about designs, redesigns, iterations and needed changes for products
· Create Product Drawings using CAD or similar programs
· Create Bill of Materials for products
· Source, test and verify materials in product designs
· Manage timeline of projects from development into manufacturing
· Manage and participate in large builds of products for testing in various consumer settings.
Ideally candidates would have a basic knowledge of how products work, basic understanding of product performance testing and familiarity with CAD. Candidates would also likely have interests or hobbies with building, assembling, or crafting various items of any kind.
Products we design are typically disposable and made of non-woven materials and are sold to consumers in retails environments.
Looking for candidates with 0-5 years of experience with a strong interest in growing professionally.
