What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kidz Gym Director position at The Fitness Equation?
The Fitness Equation is looking for a Kidz Gym Director to manage the Kidz Gym staff and oversee the safety and security of youth members through the Kidz Gym department. The Kidz Gym Director will work with club management and staff to create an inspiring and positive environment to engage youth members, promote socialization and education. The Kidz Gym Director is responsible for designing and directing the training which makes up the Super Kidz program and all other Kidz Gym programs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive attitude and a focus on the member experience at all times, interacting with the children in a positive and age appropriate manner.
- Present a professional and motivating personal appearance to inspire members and encourage their commitment to their own personal health; be a role model.
- Promote cleanliness and ensure safe environment of Kidz Gym is appropriately maintained
- Assists and supervises children during all activities
- Works with plans, and prepares materials for classroom activities; Communicates appropriate information to parents; maintains developmental profiles for children. We are an equal opportunity employer.
- Organize and participate in recreational and educational activities, such as games, drawing, handicrafts, and reading to children.
- Maintain discipline with the children and initiate other measures to control behavior.
- Keep security records on individual children ensuring that all children have a registration form on file.
- Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in Kidz Gym area.
- Support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and supporting positive self-concepts.
- Teaching Super Kidz Ninja Warrior program training classes and participation in all other Kidz Gym programs.
Qualifications
- 2 years prior work experience in a daycare/childcare environment required.
- H.S. diploma or GED minimum.
- Current CPR/AED certification, Infant and Child First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Excellent communication with children and adults (parent/legal guardian) required.
- Ability to make children feel secure and to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
- Punctual and a high level of communication well in advance with club management regarding an inability to fulfill obligations for any reason.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. in recreation, fitness, business management or related field preferred.
- 2 years of movement education, childhood-development experience.
