Lower School Head Teacher

The Foote School seeks a talented, energetic individual to join its faculty as a full-time lower school head teacher. The successful candidate will be a nurturing, adaptable person who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of young children and who can teach collaboratively in a creative, cooperative environment. In addition, he or she will have a commitment to our school’s mission and an interest in being involved in our community through participation in school-wide committees and activities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years head teaching experience
- Experience with project-based and hands-on learning
- Demonstrated experience in differentiating instruction
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient at designing and using assessments to guide instruction
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and innovation
- Commitment to best practice as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Skills needed to mentor and supervise an associate teacher

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, 10-month, salaried exempt position. The school year hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with summers and school holidays off.
