Job Summary
We're on the lookout for a dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team and collaborate with our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Director of Nursing (DON). Your role as a QA Nurse will involve not only ensuring the highest quality of daily nursing services but also supporting and guiding our staff to maintain exceptional standards of care. Essential Job Functions:
- Step in to provide essential nursing care support when needed, making a positive impact on our residents’ lives.
- Assist in solving nursing service problems, using your skills to find creative and effective solutions.
- Help maintain accurate and organized records of nursing, medical, and related services, ensuring top-notch care.
- Play a key role in our infection control and Quality Assurance (Q.A.) programs, keeping our facility safe and healthy.
- Attend care conferences and contribute your insights to improve resident care plans and outcomes.
- Join daily interdepartmental meetings, fostering collaboration and teamwork across all departments.
- Participate in quarterly quality meetings, driving continuous improvement in our services.
- Engage in SWIFT meetings, staying on top of the latest developments and initiatives.
- Assist in developing comprehensive resident care plans that cater to each individual's unique needs.
- Ensure laboratory and other diagnostic tests are completed, supporting accurate and timely care.
- Cooperate closely with medical staff, building strong relationships to enhance resident care.
- Step up as a charge nurse when needed, showcasing your leadership and nursing expertise.
- Provide “on call” services to nursing staff as scheduled by the administrator, always ready to lend a helping hand. Embrace all other assigned duties with enthusiasm and dedication, proving your versatility and commitment.

Knowledge of:
- Master the safety rules, policies, procedures, and infection prevention and control protocols to keep our environment safe and healthy.
- Know all about facility emergency/disaster response and evacuation procedures, ready to lead when it counts.
- Fully understand residents’ rights, including freedom from restraints and abuse, and be a champion for their protection.
- General nursing theory and practice

- Adhere to the Arizona State Board of Nursing Rules and Nurse Practice Act, maintaining high standards.
- Skillfully use diagnostic equipment, ensuring accurate assessments.
- Build Relationships : Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families.
- Maintain confidentiality, protecting sensitive information.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 100 pounds or more and bear weight.
- Involves continuous physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, stretching, turning, grasping, and reaching.
- This is a safety-sensitive position pursuant to A.R.S. 23-493.
- Must be able to wear protective equipment such as gloves, masks, gowns, goggles and gait belts.
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, common health care conditions, smells, noises, chemicals and some mechanical equipment.
- Exposure to a variety of patient conditions and elements.
- Frequent interactions with persons who may be verbally abusive to include yelling and cursing.
- Frequent interaction with persons who are disabled, elderly and emotionally upset and who may be emotional, verbally and physical abusive. Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions with a workload that may be unpredictable and difficult to manage at times.
Required Minimum Education, Experience, and Training
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
- Current Arizona Nursing License or a license from a compact license state.
- Obtain/maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employee's expense.
- Maintain CPR Certification.
- Receive the COVID-19 vaccine or exemption.
- Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.
- 1-year experience in long-term care. Mandated federal, state, and local communicable disease testing as required.
