The George Washington Hotel is the premier event venue in the tri-state area. We are located in the heart of Washington, PA. At The George Washington Hotel and Event Venue, we pride ourselves in being the best. We are currently seeking front desk personnel. All candidates must be hardworking and fun loving. We'll rely on you to keep our historic facilities on the cutting edge of top rated customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties

Job Duties:

  • Answers phones and directs calls to proper departments.
  • Takes all guest registrations including those for group room blocks.
  • Accommodates special requests by guests and managers whenever possible
  • Adheres to proper credit, check- cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department with both hotel room and extended stay rooms.
  • Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary
  • Knows cancellation procedures
  • Process guest check-outs• Performing cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, raising paid out's, currency exchange, follows procedures for audits and cash drops.
  • Reports all maintenance requests to the appropriate departments.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures Is aware of accident prevention policies
  • Maintains and complete daily cleaning checklists for each individual shift.
  • Completes all checkouts with appropriate management.
  • Cross-trains with events and housekeeping departments.
  • Assists on event days with tasks assigned by managers.
  • Perform night audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Required education:• High school or equivalent

Required experience:• Hospitality: 1 year

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear. The position may be require to lift up 25-50 pounds, The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. As we are an event venue with private events and entertainment, at times the environment can be loud. The venue is open 24/7, therefore you must be available for various shifts.
