Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing young minds and supporting the development of children, particularly those with special needs. This position involves working closely with lead teachers to create a positive learning environment that fosters growth and development in early childhood education settings.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to the needs of students, including those with disabilities and autism.
- Support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of children in a preschool or private school setting.
- Engage with students through interactive play and educational games to promote learning and development.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to lead teachers regarding individual student needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to discuss student progress and address any concerns related to childhood development.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in early childhood education.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in preschool or early childhood education environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, especially related to special education and working with students with disabilities.
- Familiarity with techniques for educating children on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in supporting classroom activities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in fostering a supportive learning environment for all students.
