What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wine Bar Service Manager position at The Griswold Inn?
The Griswold Inn in Essex, Ct will be reopening our very popular Wine Bar and Bistro. We are seeking a hospitality professional with a passion for wine, food and service excellence, who will provide consistent support for front of the house operations. They will have familiarity with managing an extensive wine by the glass program.
The key objective for this manager is promoting quality service through professional guest interaction. It will require engaging our guests with the utmost care and in a positive manner. In essence, they will seek every opportunity to enhance the guest experience and develop positive relationships.
The candidate must possess the character and leadership ability to successfully coordinate the staff and resources in a time sensitive environment. They must possess a proficient knowledge of wine and service etiquette, along with a genuine desire to coach and assist the service team,
Job Requirements:
- Has a minimum of three years management experience in Dining Services, including knowledge and understanding of wine and food.
- Opens, closes and manages the front of the house operation during business hours
- Works "hands on" in the Wine Bar, providing service to customers.
- Implements proper service standards and policies to staff
- Use creativity to build guest loyalty and enhance food and beverage sales
- Promotes the Inn and its products through direct customer relations
- Inspects and maintains the facility and its ambiance on a daily basis
- Ability to manage, interview, hire, train and develop service staff
- Approaches guests and establishes a comfortable, professional rapport
- Effectively communicates with management, owners and staff
- Assists in the monitoring and controlling of costs, payroll and expenses
- Coordinates the FOH staff schedules according to business demand
- Assists the Front Desk staff with the coordination of guest reservations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

- Evening shift
- Weekend availability
