Jesus loves the little children, and so do we! Our Early Childhood ministry develops and cares for the youngest members of our Grove family, sharing the love of Jesus with kids from newborn through Kindergarten age. The Coordinator works closely with the Director to create vision and develop programs and activities for the Early Childhood Ministry. This position also works closely with volunteers to shepherd them and tend to their spiritual care.
Reports To: Early Childhood Ministry Director
Works with: Ministry staff and volunteers, church families
Works: Full-time, 40 hours per week (weekends mandatory)
Leadership - 20%
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise volunteers for weekend and midweek programs.
- Build community and vision in volunteer teams.
- Maintain communication with volunteers to ensure overall health and effectiveness.
- Assist Director with coordinating appreciation for volunteers, leaders, and staff.
- Partner with Director in providing training opportunities and resources for families in the spiritual development of their children.
- Build relationships with volunteers and families to encourage spiritual growth.
Weekend and Midweek Programs 60%
- Assist Director in the planning and preparation of midweek and weekend curriculum, activities, supplies and programs.
- Execute midweek and weekend program and activities, creating age-appropriate environments for kids to experience God; oversee volunteer implementation and classroom expectations.
- Teach various age levels of classes for midweek and weekend services in small and large group settings.
- Continually evaluate effectiveness of Early Childhood ministry programs.
- Ensure classrooms are prepared for volunteers with program supplies and staffed appropriately.
Other Ministry 20%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Participate in planning and executing specific areas of Summer Splash, other special events, and global outreach objectives.
- Attend Early Childhood leadership team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings.
