Truck Loader

PURPOSE: Loads and unloads product into and out of company trucks to ensure correct and efficient loading of all delivery trips

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Load and unload grocery products into and out of company trucks

· Ensures the correct merchandise is loaded on the proper trailer in the correct loading sequence

· Assist in maximizing profit by ensuring merchandise is loaded without damage and that merchandise arrives to customer in good condition

· Ensures that all trailers are swept and clean before loading

· Maintains proper housekeeping of shipping docks including sweeping and cleaning docks at the end of shift

· Assists auditors as needed

· Climbs into and out of trucks to lift or move products

· Accurately controls daily inventory count and cost by auditing bulk products loaded onto trucks

· Records number of bulk items loaded and / or returned

· All other duties and projects as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and experience

· Minimum 1 year previous stocking experience

· Minimum 1 year forklift operations experience; preferably in warehouse/distribution envrironment

· Ability to read merchandise and carton labels-signage

· Must have strong verbal and written communication

· Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.

· Ability to prioritize, to make good decisions, and multi-task.

· Ability to work independently yet have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others

· Certified and knowledgeable of Forklift and other stock picking equipment operations preferred

· Knowledgeably communicate with service vendors.

· Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

· Ability to visually examine product for damage or wear

· Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

· Willingness to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently.

· Computer skills (Word, Excel) a plus

· Ability to periodically lift, push, pull, 50 pounds

· Occasional hot/cold environment

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):

• All trucks securely loaded and prepared for delivery
• Timely loading of all routes
• Maintain Shorts on Delivery to under $500.00 per week
• .02 error rate loading trucks
• Zero (0) damage to items due to loading procedures
• 100% adherence to all safety policies

PHYSICAL, SENSORY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Must be able to lift up to _50 lbs occasionally.

· During an 8-hour day, frequent sitting and working at a computer, frequent walking, bending and standing are required.

· Hand Use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.

· Requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.

· Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.

· Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
