Do you like arts and crafts? Do you like hosting or creating fun small events for students to enjoy? How about playing basketball, football and or air hockey in a student game center? Then this is the place for you. Come be a mentor to middle school students (6th-8th)in an after school setting.
Position Summary
Duties include some lunchtime supervision, weekly after-school supervision, and creating fun and engaging games for the students to enjoy. Hours of work for lunch supervision are Monday through Friday, 11:50- 1:00. Regular supervision is Monday through Friday, 2:15- 6:15 p.m. This position is 20 to 27 hours a week. There are no benefits associated with this position. *Please note that scheduled hours of work, as well as responsibilities, may vary.
Expected hourly range: $17.55 - $24.00/hour (depending on experience)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements

Must be 18 years of age

Enthusiastic, fun great personality

Hold current certification in both first aid and CPR, if not, will take the class provided by Harker

Ability to communicate and work with groups of all ages and skill levels, and provide necessary instruction

Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push or pull
-
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20lbs
-
Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
-
Takes initiative to assist and developing others through seeking and understanding

Demonstrates an openness to change, and seeks opportunities in the change of process.

Accurately assess personal feelings, strengths and limitations and how they impact relationships.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements
Required Knowledge and Skills:

Must have ability to work independently, work with others, and work with guidance of supervisor and be self-motivated

Excellent time management and prioritization skills

Ability to use Microsoft Word, experience with e-mail and Microsoft Outlook a plus

Physical ability to stand for 3 hours at a time and withstand climate extremes
Working Conditions
No hazardous or unpleasant working conditions. Climate elements must be withstood (IE wearing sunscreen on warm days), as well as prolonged standing. You must have the ability to push and pull, lead and interact in group and single activities that may require some physical skills.
