Overview:
We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Superintendent to play a pivotal role in supporting our Paving, Snow, and Materials operations.
What you’ll do:
- Provides overall on-site leadership and management on a construction site.
- Monitor crews for organizational structure, sizing and crew mix ratios.
- Monitors work performed and addresses situations that do not conform to standards.
- Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Provides overall direction to Team Members regarding The Hatch Group standards, work quality, quantity of work to be performed, performance and accountability.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
- Assess the work environment for possible hazards and make sure training is adequate to perform work.
- Training for field members.
- Must be able to recognize and address issues or problems with teams and provide effective resolutions.
- Reviewing schedule weekly with Materials Coordinator and Project Managers.
- Assist in Hiring / Disciplinary for field team.
- Every day required to spend an hour in the office going over scheduling timing for projects accepted the day before and adding private notes into Quotient.
- Effectively communicates with other team members with the ability to listen to other Team members’ ideas, suggestions, and concerns.
- Drives productivity, motivation and morale within the department.
- Promotes positive and cooperative attitudes to ensure company and customer satisfaction
- Administers direct supervisory responsibilities for staff including, corrective action, promotional recommendations and work schedules.
- Monitor daily reports for inquiries and send them to the President.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow employees.
- Must have a Leadership Mindset.
- Must be dependable with good to excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Must understand that this is not a 9-5 position, and be willing to adapt to changes.
- 3 or more years leading paving or construction crews, 5 or more years of hands-on field experience in asphalt paving or construction, DOT experience is required.
- Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record required.
- Must have OSHA certification.
- Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise Forman and lead by example.
- Strong work ethic and stable work history.
