The Helix School serves autistic children and young adults ages 5 to 22 from across the Bay Area. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, individualized education that supports each student’s cognitive, sensory, and emotional development. Through an integrated, evidence-based curriculum, we meet students where they are—adapting to their developmental levels, sensory processing profiles, and regulatory needs.
Our interdisciplinary team includes educators, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behavior specialists, and mental health professionals, all working collaboratively to support each student’s growth. We also partner with public school districts throughout the Bay Area to provide specialized services and consultation.

Position: Aide
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with head teacher, Counselor, Speech Therapist, Social-Emotional Learning Specialist and/or Occupational Therapist for delivery of special education plans and daily instruction
- Assisting the lead teacher and others on the student’s team in preparing and presenting academic plan
- Provide behavioral support to student when needed
- Under direction of teachers and therapists, collect data as needed
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working with children (experience in special education strongly preferred).
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work on an interdisciplinary team.
- Comfort with hands-on, flexible, and student-centered teaching approaches.
