Host/Hostess (Geneva, Il)
Full Time/Part-time. Evening shifts 3/4pm to 9pm, Day shifts are from 8am to 2/3pm.
SUMMARY OF POSITION The Host or Hostess is the guest's first and last impression of Atwater's Restaurant. It is the focal point of guest service for the dining room, bar, and patio. You would coordinate guest requests, service staff and the kitchen in order to create a fine dining experience.
PURPOSE OF POSITION As the Host/Hostess, you own the ambience of Atwater's dining room, bar, and lobby area, creating a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere for them to enjoy. You are seamlessly assisting guests at every opportunity. You act as the eyes and ears of the kitchen, communicating thoroughly with servers and kitchen staff to communicate important information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Oral and Written proficiency in the English Language.
- Superior Communication Skills.
- An eye for detail and willingness to go the extra mile.
- A superior sense of organization and ability to prioritize in a busy environment.
- Patience.
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience.
- Outgoing and friendly attitude.
- Preferred familiarity with the local area.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items
2. Possess a general knowledge of hotel facilities and services.
3. Follow through on all guest special requests.
4. Maintain the organization of the menu armoire.
5. Report for work in a clean and pressed uniform with name badge.
6. Regularly inspect washrooms for cleanliness and appearance.
7. Assist with emergency and security procedures as directed by management staff.
8. Comply with all policies & procedures of the food & beverage department, The Herrington Inn, and Shodeen Inc.
9. Complete all other tasks assigned by department heads and/or the manager on duty.
