What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - 2nd shift position at The High Companies?
Founded in 1978, High Steel Service Center, an affiliate of High Industries Inc., has a 200,000 square-foot facility with 150,000 tons of capacity. A full-line metal processor and distributor, High Steel Service Center offers carbon steel, aluminum flat-rolled, and stainless steel products.
We are always on the lookout for experienced Machine Operators to operate either the Stretcher-Leveler or Multi-Cut Blanking Line (MBL) machines, on 2nd shift, in Lancaster, PA.
Machine Operators start out at least $20/hr, based on experience, and receive a $3/hr shift differential.
At High Steel Service Center, our Machine Operators work four (4) 10-hour days: Monday - Thursday from 3:00 pm - 1: 30 am.
The successful hire will need to be flexible and available to train on 1st shift for 3-6 months, before moving to 2nd shift.
Overtime may be required on Fridays from 3:00 pm - 9:30 pm, as well as occasional Saturdays from 6:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Our next team members will possess the following educational and work experiences:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical ability required
- Excellent math, measurement, and recordkeeping skills required
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (overhead crane, side loader & forklift) required
- Computer literacy needed to keep accurate inventory records and for light data entry
- Knowledge of coil processing preferred.
