We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in Stamford, CT. The ideal candidate will have experience processing invoices and creating purchase orders in a timely manner with accuracy, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Agent will process customer payments, reconcile the cash drawer, and complete bank deposits. They will also manage the stockroom and fuel sales.

- Assist customers, both internal technicians and external walk-ins
- Perform point of sale activities for walk in customers
- Handle cash payments and maintain a $100.00 cash box
- Create bank deposits
- Build purchase orders in Syteline
- Order materials as needed
- Scan and email invoices to corporate daily
- Process invoices on a daily basis
- Reconcile credit card statement weekly
- Research payables for accounting
- File hard copies of invoices after processing
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipping.
- Compares identifying information upon receipt of goods against bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and reports damage or shortages
- Coverage of the stockroom duties; Responsible for stocking/ restocking shelves in the stockroom.
- Performs annual physical inventory and periodic cycle counts and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Operates hand-truck or forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping/receiving area or to work location and is willing to obtain necessary license(s) for the use of this machinery.
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws and corporate guidelines on business ethics
- Oversees and facilitates emergency response plan in the event of a hazardous spill or release.
- Maintains current knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, updating response plans to comply with new regulations and amendments.
- Responsible for removal of hazardous wastes
Requirements
