Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to safety, hygiene, and cooking standards.
- Assist in inventory control, ordering supplies, and ensuring efficient stock rotation to reduce waste.
- Prepare and cook meals per menu specifications, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning and developing new dishes or seasonal offerings.
- Ensure all food is cooked to the highest standards and promptly.
- Lead by example, ensuring all kitchen staff follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Coordinate kitchen tasks to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
- Ensure that the kitchen adheres to all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas to comply with food safety standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and food labeling to meet hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist in managing kitchen schedules and delegating tasks as needed.
- Attend staff meetings to provide input on kitchen operations and improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a manager position or lead Line cook.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for cooking and commitment to delivering high-quality food.
