Job Summary

Getty is the world's largest cultural and philanthropic organization dedicated to the visual arts. Getty's Investment Department manages a diversified portfolio of $9 billion in investment assets, and we are seeking an Investment Analyst to join our team.

Our Investment Analyst Rotation Program provides the opportunity to work across different asset classes. Investment Analysts will initially work on one investment team: Private Equity and Venture Capital or Public Equity and Real Assets. Once a year, each analyst will rotate and work on a different asset class team.

Analysts are expected to develop investment manager research skills that can be applied across all asset classes. Investment Analysts will help monitor, evaluate, and select investment managers and co-investments based on a variety of metrics and strategic considerations.

Evaluating potential investment managers requires Investment Analysts to use both quantitative and qualitative skills. Analysts will be in charge of gathering, processing, and documenting a variety of data on investment managers, markets, and opportunities.

Qualitatively, Investment Analysts must be prepared to ask questions and evaluate the relative strength of different firms and investment strategies. Analysts coordinate and participate in meetings and calls, not just with investment managers, but also with other investors, industry CEOs and other professionals.

Quantitatively, Analysts use Excel and other tools to evaluate funds compared to benchmarks and peer universes, evaluate information about underlying holdings such as revenue growth, earnings growth, and changes in leverage for private companies, and evaluate duration, convexity, capital structure and security for credit investments.

For each assigned fund investment, Investment Analysts will be in charge of preparing an investment memorandum detailing the investment rationale and due diligence. Analysts may also perform ad-hoc market and industry research. Investment Analysts will also monitor our current portfolio of funds. This involves reading investment updates, market reports, and tracking fund performance. Each quarter, the Analyst will spend time helping to craft a quarterly investment report for our Chief Investment Officer and the Board of Trustees.
