Description
The Supervisor, Environmental Services performs and manages cleaning procedures throughout the Jewish Community Campus. The Supervisor ensures we meet quality standards and provide a clean and safe environment for our tenants and guests. The Supervisor will spend approximately 25% of his/her time training, supervising, scheduling and administering payroll. The other 75% time will be spent performing direct service.
The Jewish Community Campus, located in Overland Park, is a 250,000 square foot building on 25-acre grounds. The building is home to nine Jewish agencies including the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City. The building includes a preschool, K-12 private school, 500-seat theater, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, commercial kitchens, outdoor sports and recreation spaces, private offices and public meeting spaces.
Schedule
The Supervisor will primarily work standard business hours, but will be work some early morning, weeknight and weekend hours to ensure he/she provides oversight of and support to all direct reports.
Essential Duties
- Organize workflow and ensure employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.
- Clean restrooms, which include sinks, toilets, countertops, etc.
- Clean locker rooms, which include steam rooms, saunas, showers, benches, etc.
- Restock supplies such as tissue, paper towels, soap, shampoo, etc.
- Gather trash and empty trash bins
- Perform special deep cleaning projects
- Ensure supplies are stocked, organized and stored properly when not in use
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and efficiently according to established procedures
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safety and efficiently
- Follow building security procedures for locking doors and securing areas
- Clean and dispose of spills and other hazards with appropriate processes and equipment
- Notify Director of Facilities of any required repairs to equipment or facility
- Respond to radio communication promptly and professionally
- Show consideration when interacting with tenants, visitors, employees and coworkers
- Participate in team meetings, trainings and special events as needed
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experienced required
- Previous experience as a supervisor or lead is required
- Able to hire, train, supervise and coach direct reports
- Able to follow cleaning schedule and complete duties within time allowances
- Able to use office technology such as email, Microsoft Word and Excel, payroll system, scheduling system, work order system, etc.
- Able to interact professionally with tenants, visitors, employees and co-workers
- Able to establish and monitor safety processes and procedures
Physical Requirements
This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for the majority of each shift. The employee must be able to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
