What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at The Kidz Club?
We are looking for reliable, skilled drivers to operate light buses and/or vans in transporting clients to and from the contracted vendor’s pre-determined locations. Me-2 Transportation works exclusively with The Kidz Club PPEC transporting children ages birth to 21 who have complex medical needs.
The Bus Driver is an essential role in providing total quality care by assuring that clients are able to receive daily skilled nursing care at The Kidz Club Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care. There is always a The Kidz Club employee in the vehicle in case of a medical emergency. The driver must be comfortable operating a wheelchair lift. The driver works closely with The Kidz Club team to provide the most effective quality care possible.

Starting Rate
- $18.00 - $20.00
- Rate increases with experience based on pre-set qualifiers
Qualifications
- Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations, and of precautions necessary to avoid accidents.
- Ability to complete various forms and records, including updated route sheets, timesheets, field trip forms, incident, and accident reports, etc.
- Ability to operate basic computer functions and smartphone devices.
- Me-2 Transportation Drivers must complete the necessary training and documentation to be certified through Federated Transportation Services of the Bluegrass, Inc. within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities
- Complete the Training program within 30 days of employment:
- Hands-on Training with another Driver
- Online Training Course
- Transports clients to and from the contracted vendor and designated location, following a pre-planned route according to a definite time schedule; communicating in harmony with parents and staff.
- Drives bus cautiously and in compliance with traffic regulations.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety of all passengers in loading, unloading, and transporting them to and from a pre-determined designated location and the contracted vendor.
- Is knowledgeable of Passenger Assistance guidelines and passenger restraint procedures.
- Operate manual and remote-controlled wheelchair lifts.
- Regulates heating equipment and ventilation of buses for the comfort of passengers.
- Logs mechanical inspection (lights, tires, etc.) and cleanliness of vehicle on daily trip sheet, documenting findings or concerns.
- Checks water, gas, oil, and mechanical condition of the bus weekly.
- Reports defects, problems with vehicles, delays, and accidents to the Director of Nursing immediately.
- Keeps operational records and makes simple reports.
- Assures bus meets regular maintenance schedules and routine cleaning as needed.
- Performs related work as required.
