What are the responsibilities and job description for the Room service manager position at The Langham, Boston?
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
The Room Service Manager is a member of the Food and Beverage team whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the Hotel’s service standards and Food & Beverage revenues are met or exceeded in Room Service.
Hospitable, welcoming and friendly guest service are essential requirements of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare daily / weekly payroll and schedule
- Schedule and conduct monthly departmental meetings
- Complete projects delegated by Manager in timely manner
- Maintain inventory of supplies / approve all requisitions
- Maintain POS systems and update product pricing
- Ensure maximum level of guest service while maintaining Langham standards
- Handle guest requests / complaints
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
- 85% - Floor Management
- 15% - Administrative work
Experience with and good understand of Micros POS and F&B Menu knowledge
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Food Safety : Abides by food safety requirements and ensures that others do so by monitoring FIFO inventory and visually inspecting food prep and delivery activities.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage Management in a 4-5 star hotel, and / or room service.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read, write and speak English fluently
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ServSafe Alcohol and / or TIPS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to grasp, lift and / or carry up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Able to work long hours plus the ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
