Responsibilities
- Learn how a boutique law firm is run (from client intake, interviews, state and federal court process and procedures, billing, etc.)
- Assist with boutique law firm’s day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, taking phone calls, dictation, document filling, etc.
- Manage and organize case files and electronic document production
- Taking dictation on occasion
- Assist attorneys with deposition preparation
- Assist with drafting letters to clients and other counsel
- Perform legal research
- Draft and edit legal internal and external legal memoranda
- Coordinate filing and service of motions
- Obtain pleadings from court dockets and monitor dockets
- Assemble and distribute documents for hearings and client meetings
- Maintain and update case contact information
- File court documents electronically
- Opportunity to assist with all phases of trial preparation on matters scheduled for trial in Summer 2025
- Other responsibilities as they may be assigned from time-to-time
- Must be comfortable working in-person with minimal supervision
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment
- Must have typing speed of at least 70 WPM
- Proven leadership ability through participation in organizations and clubs
- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
- Ability to promote teamwork and collaboration
- An adaptable, goal-oriented individual with an eagerness to learn
- A self-motivated and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- A strong collaborator who accomplishes tasks by partnering with team members while also being able to work independently
- An organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker who can prioritize multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines
