Qualifications
- Minimum BA in Music or Music Education
- Ability to work with musicians at all skill levels
- Strong instrumental skills, including piano accompaniment
- Orff, Kodaly, or Dalcroze training strongly encouraged
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Designs and teaches general music while meeting the needs of individual students through differentiated, dynamic lessons
- Provides opportunities for music ensembles and solos including rock band, musicals, and choir
- Plans, rehearses, and directs students in musical and holiday programs
- Works with admin to develop and refine the music curriculum
- Creates and maintains a trusting and healthy classroom/performance environment through established routines and expectations
- Organizes, maintains, and inventories school-owned musical equipment and instruments
- Hours*: noon-4:15 Mondays and Wednesdays; noon-3pm Tuesdays and Fridays
- Second semester hours increase on Fridays with an earlier start time of 9:15.
*Evening/seasonal performances outside of these hours are to be expected.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
