We have an immediate need for a Structural Project Engineer for our New York, NY Office.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood structures, and foundations
- Perform site investigations to observe and document existing conditions
- Prepare engineering calculation packages; assist in the preparation of design drawings and specifications
- Support the development of project plans and the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services
- Serve as technical lead on simple to moderately complex assignments
- Serve as client liaison/assistant PM on small – mid size projects, as directed by supervisor
- Support/lead the construction administration phase of projects through the review of submittals, response to Contractor RFIs, and performance of site visits and inspections
- Utilize a broad assortment of technical and critical thinking skills on projects that range from small renovations to large scale new construction
- Involvement with local chapters of technical/professional engineering societies
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering, Master’s degree a plus
- 5 years’ experience in Structural Engineering
- PE required
- Ability to provide guidance to junior level engineers and drafters/modelers
- Understanding and application of code requirements
- Experience in using various structural analysis software
- Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on a team, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines
- AutoCAD experience a requirement, Revit experience a plus
