What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Care Partner-Caregiver position at The Lodge at Stephens Lake?
Position Summary:
The Resident Care Partner will provide personalized care and services to residents, uphold the philosophy of assisted living, and promote the well-being of the residents. Care Partners will provide assistance with residents’ activities of daily living in a professional and caring manner. Duties performed are expected to be in accordance with the state guidelines and the guidelines outlined in The Lodge at Stephens Lake policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Experience in the care giving to older adults preferred.
3. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
4. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
5. Desire to work with older adults. Friendly, caring disposition.
6. Must be 18 years of age. Requires satisfactory completion of drug, background, and medical screening.
7. Must understand the risk of exposure to infectious waste, disease, chemicals, solution, and disinfectants.
8. Must be able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Carry out all duties ensuring the care, watchful oversight, and well-being of our residents.
2. Perform all duties as assigned in accordance with The Lodge at Stephens Lake Senior Living philosophy and policies and in accordance with the residents’ right to safe, prompt, and confidential treatment.
3. Adhere to each residents’ Service Plan and notify the management of any changes in resident condition.
4. Respond timely to resident calls.
5. Offer choice, maintain dignity, and promote individuality for all residents.
6. Protect the confidentiality of personal and medical information of residents and coworkers.
7. Respond timely to resident calls.
8. Encourage and assist resident participation in activities.
9. Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, escort residents to and from the dining room, assist residents with meals in ways that meet their individual needs and desires.
10. Assist with meal service as assigned.
11. Assist with tidying residents’ apartments.
12. Dispose of all incontinent products according to policy.
13. Practice proper body mechanics when assisting with resident transfers and follow safety guidelines according to The Lodge at Stephens Lake policies and procedures.
14. Participate in special events, activities, and marketing programs.
15. Lead by example, encourage teamwork, and promote The Lodge at Stephens Lake Senior Living philosophy.
16. Establish and maintain good relationships with our residents and their families.
17. Respond to resident emergencies in accordance with The Lodge at Stephens Lake Senior Living policies and procedures.
18. Respond to on-the-job injuries in accordance with The Lodge at Stephens Lake Senior Living policies and procedures.
19. Control the spread of infection by following standard precautions.
20. Complete continuing education units (CEUs) as required by state guidelines and in accordance with The Lodge at Stephens Lake Senior Living policies.
21. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
22. Protect and maintain resident rights.
23. Adhere to HIPPA guidelines.
24. Other duties as assigned.
Communications
1. Attend all regular staff meetings and required in service training sessions.
2. Must communicate effectively to convey information to residents, Shift Supervisor, and Management.
3. Promptly review communication tools used in providing resident care.
4. Ensure required documentation for providing resident care is completed and up to date.
5. Report a change in a resident’s condition.
6. Report supply needs.
7. Report hazardous conditions and equipment to the Executive Director.
8. Notify your supervisor of any concerns or questions presented by the residents’ family members.
Reports to: Shift Supervisor, Resident Services Director, and Executive Director
Physical Job Requirements:
To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time. Employees must adhere to proper body mechanics and safety measures when supporting or transferring residents. In a typical eight- hour day, employee will:
1. Stand/walk up to eight hours a day
2. Sit up to two hours a day
3. Frequently support up to 70 pounds
4. Occasionally lift/carry up to15 pounds
5. Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
6. Secure proper assistance for transferring of residents as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
