Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a team to create an environment conducive to creative learning and appropriate for elementary and middle school age children;
- Facilitate visitor experiences in creating makers, art, and design projects using a variety of methods and media;
- Assist visitors of all ages in using supplies, tools, material, and software at The Magic House MADE for Kids;
- Assist with workshops, programs, and summer camps related to the MADE for Kids experience;
- Monitor inventory of all supplies and materials while on the floor;
- Ensure that The Magic House MADE for Kids is a safe and well-maintained environment;
- Supervise volunteers at The Magic House, MADE for Kids;
- Participate in trainings as required by the organization;
- Regular job attendance;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High school diploma preferred;
- Minimum of one year experience working with children;
- Experience working as a maker, artist, designer, and/or entrepreneur is preferred;
- Personal passion for making, art and design;
- Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative;
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
- Excellent customer service skills - helpful, friendly and patient attitude;
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, as well as independently;
- Demonstrate good judgment with the ability to solve problems by weighing and evaluating options;
- Positive, optimistic attitude;
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.;
