Overview:
The Manchester Hotel is an upscale lifestyle hotel in the heart of the Distillery District in Downtown Lexington, KY. We are seeking high energy, self-motivated Baristas for our restaurant outlet, Granddam.
Duties:
- Greet customers as they enter the property.
- Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients.
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g., preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios).
- Prepare beverages following recipes.
- Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries, and muffins.
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards).
- Keep the bar area clean.
- Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates.
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a barista with an understanding of POS systems and customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in coffee preparation and serving.
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in sales and upselling products is nice to have.
- Ability to handle food service, and food handling with attention to detail.
- Basic math skills and experience with cash handling and cash register operations.
- Understanding of retail math principles and experience in the food industry.
