Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations for our organization. This role requires a dedicated professional to manage employee attendance and performance, coordinate recruiting and onboarding, maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies, and support payroll and scheduling systems. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between employees, management, and external partners, ensuring smooth HR processes and positive workforce relations.
Responsibilities
· Review employee attendance and performance records to identify issues requiring disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspensions, or terminations.
· Audit time clock punches to detect early clock-outs, tardiness, and no-call no-shows; monitor and address individual cases.
· Track and update PTO and sick time, including conducting 30-, 60-, 90-day, and annual performance reviews for in-office staff.
· Maintain detailed notes and documentation related to employee performance and removals within HR and payroll systems.
· Conduct interviews, follow up with candidates on onboarding paperwork, initiate background checks.
· Manage the onboarding process ensuring proper setup in HRIS platforms, communicating procedures to new hires, and ensuring submission of necessary documentation such as direct deposit information.
· Generate and review I-9 reports, approve sick time requests with accurate payroll deductions, and maintain ACA documentation for insurance eligibility.
· Enforce Sexual Harassment Prevention Training compliance, issuing reminders and escalating non-compliance appropriately.
· Maintain and update employee files related to disciplinary actions, terminations, and regulatory compliance.
· Conduct internal incident reports for workplace injuries, notify clients and management, and manage workers’ compensation claims as needed.
· Handle HR-related mail correspondence from government agencies, unemployment insurance filings (SIDES), and other administrative tasks.
· Respond to HR inquiries via phone, email, or messaging; resolve issues or escalate to management as appropriate.
· Document client communications and maintain records.
· Run and manage compliance and operational reports, including certification expiration, referral bonus eligibility, employee attendance reports, OSHA filings, etc.
· Maintain communication with field managers and foremen to ensure our practices and policies are being upheld.
Experience
- Proven experience in human resources management with a focus on program management.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex employee situations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees at all levels.
- Familiarity with FMLA regulations and other employment laws is essential.
- Experience in budgeting related to HR functions is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance, especially SHRM standards and local state law regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment and appropriate escalation when necessary.
