Job Description: The Radiation Therapy Technologist is responsible for providing radiation therapy services using prescribed ionizing radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist. Creates images/or simulations to ensure correct handling of patient during radiation treatment. Schedules patients for examinations/treatments with radiation oncologist. Practices good radiation protection techniques and wears radiation exposure monitoring devices as required. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred. Bachelors Degree in Radiation Therapy required. EXPERIENCE: 6-12 months related experience and/or training preferred. CERTIFICATIONS: Registry credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT): R.T.(R)(T) or R.T.(T) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
