This person receives WIP from the warehouse and loads it into the dumper to keep packaging machines running.
Responsibilities
- Review all pertinent SOP’s and is a QI (Qualified Individual) for the position
- Uses pallet jack to move WIP to the line.
- Checks tickets on WIP gaylords to ensure proper product is being loaded for the run.
- Safely loads WIP onto the dumper to feed the line.
- Ensures that product is constantly available so that the line does not stop.
- Cleans all areas of the production floor as necessary or requested.
- Visually inspects product for quality defects and notifies QA of any quality concerns.
- Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity in the plant area.
- Provides support for the machine operator in maintaining continuous production.
- Works cooperatively with other members of the packaging line.
- Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
- Strive to be a safety solutions leader by maintaining the 200% for safety mindset. Participate in engagement activities, complete required safety training, and aid in identifying hazards utilizing BBS and Safety Monitor programs.
- Participates in activities related to Marzetti Operational Excellence.
Qualification Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment requiring repetitive work is preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is helpful.
- Must not have food allergies.
