Job Duties & Accountabilities
Typical Duties of the Feed Mill Technician:
1. Housekeeping and Maintenance:
- General Housekeeping duties to ensure the mill is kept in a clean, dust free manner including the grounds surrounding the mill.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly routine preventative maintenance tasks including greasing bearings, checking gear boxes, inspection/tightening of belts, etc.
- Assist in repair and maintenance projects with the maintenance staff.
2. Feed Manufacturing:
- Assist the Feed Mill Operator as required to maximize the efficiency of the mill. These duties could include:
- Filling micro ingredient boxes.
- Ingredient bin clean out.
- Addressing ingredient flow issues.
- Bagging of complete feeds.
- Receive training from the Mill Operator on the operation of the manufacturing equipment.
- Loading of complete feeds onto trucks.
- Ensure that company safety practices are adhered to.
3. Inventory Control:
- Receiving of ingredients into the mill – both bulk and bagged.
- Proper grading of ingredients received.
- Assist in grain and ingredient bin clean out.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma is required.
Experience
- 1-3 years in agriculture or related field is required.

- General maintenance techniques.
