What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse position at The McGuire Group?
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors related to adult
and geriatric residents
• Demonstrates knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, wound care and end of life, if applicable
• Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions
• Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in unit/shift assignment to meet the resident and facility needs
• Provides nursing care in accordance with resident care policies and procedures and ensures the safety and well-being of the residents is maintained
• Attends all mandatory in-services and those per facility policy
• Maintains and updates New York State licensure in compliance with New York State regulations
• Acts appropriately under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, RN or Unit Manager, and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team
• Documents appropriately in resident’s medical record
• Notifies supervisor/provider of changes in resident condition and documents accordingly
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Registered Nurse, RN, licensure
- Experience in long-term care facility preferred
- Able to interpret patient information and make critical decisions about necessary actions
- Ability to supervise and work well with and show respect toward other healthcare personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents, and their family members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
- Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
