We're Hiring: Sr. Plastics Engineer – Tooling and Process | Newark, California | 5 Years Experience

We’re looking for a Sr. Plastics Engineer – Tooling and Process to join a high-performing team driving innovation in the automotive and advanced manufacturing space.
🔧 What You’ll Do:
- Lead polymer-related aspects from design for manufacturing (DFM) through to product launch.
- Collaborate with design engineers and suppliers to ensure tooling feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
- Evaluate mold flow studies and tool designs before kickoff.
- Ensure compliance with internal tooling standards.
- Support cross-functional teams and represent the materials team in supplier communications, including on-site visits.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- B.S. in Polymer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in DFM and injection molding tool design.
- Deep knowledge of injection tooling technologies (e.g., in-mold decoration, overmolding, foaming, etc.).
- Experience with automotive A-surface parts and flow simulation tools (e.g., Autodesk MoldFlow).
- Hands-on experience with injection molding and process optimization.
- Strong communication skills and ability to travel up to 25%.
🌟 Nice to Have:
- Full lifecycle experience in automotive product development.
- Experience with MoldFlow studies, tool trials, and approvals.
- Familiarity with tool should costing.
- Exposure to other plastic manufacturing processes (e.g., blow molding, vacuum forming, compression molding, etc.).
Salary : $55 - $65
