Our Client is growing and creating a new, senior-level role focused on building long-term partnerships and uncovering early-stage construction and infrastructure opportunities across the Southeast.

This position is designed for a relationship-first business development professional who knows how work actually gets done in construction, through trust, credibility, and being in the right rooms early.

This is not a cold-calling or bid-chasing role. The focus is on proactive market engagement, off-market opportunity identification, and positioning our client as a preferred partner for large contractors, municipalities, and infrastructure stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with:
  • Large general contractors
  • Engineering and development firms
  • Municipal and regional decision-makers
  • Identify and influence construction opportunities before they are publicly bid
  • Develop a forward-looking pipeline (12–24 months) aligned with long-term growth goals
  • Position the company for MSAs, preferred vendor relationships, and repeat work
  • Represent the organization at industry events, community forums, and relationship-driven settings
  • Partner closely with estimating, engineering, and operations teams to support pursuits

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years of business development experience in construction or adjacent industries
  • Proven success securing large, multi-year, multi-million-dollar projects
  • An active professional network within construction, civil, infrastructure, aggregates, environmental services, or similar sectors
  • Strong executive presence and natural relationship-building ability
  • Comfortable operating in blue-collar, relationship-driven environments
  • Willingness to travel regionally throughout the Southeast

Backgrounds in construction services, aggregates, oil & gas services, civil development, or infrastructure-adjacent work are highly valued.

What This Role Is (and Is Not)

This role is:

  • Relationship-driven
  • Strategic and long-cycle
  • Built for a market-facing “hunter” who earns trust

This role is not:

  • A junior sales or inside BD role
  • A commission-only position
  • A reactive, RFP-only function

Compensation & Support

  • Competitive base salary: $134,000–$160,000 (based on experience)
  • Annual company incentive bonus (5–10%)
  • Vehicle lease program and travel support
  • Company credit card for client entertainment and expenses
  • Strong benefits package including 401(k)
  • Remote flexibility with expectation of regular market presence
