Organizational Overview

Founded November 06, 2024; the day after Donald Trump was declared the winner of that year's presidential election, the National Minority Rights Coalition (NMRC) represents the collective fight of America's; racial, ethnic, social, religious, and economic minorities to thrive and pursue happiness in the United States of America.

We believe in taking Congress, the White House, State Governors and Legislatures, City Councils and Mayors to task, for their policies, their rhetoric, and their partnerships, in an effort not only to combat harmful legislation to our core membership groups, but to score wins.

We're a group no longer willing to take oppression laying down, nor able to wait until "the next election" for real action, so today, in the here in now, we fight for our America.

Role Overview

Intending to operate as a 501(c)4 organization with a connected Sec. 527 Political Action Committee, the Coalition seeks to seat its inaugural Director - Development & Donor Relations and Senior Advisor to the Executive Director for Budgets.

This dynamic, passionate, and experienced individual will be responsible for the following;
  • Creating, promulgating, and maintaining the Coalition's initial donor network and strategic outreach plan,
  • Maintaining records, receipts, and compliance for all gifts and solicitation efforts, as might be required by the laws of the District of Columbia, and the Internal Revenue Service,
  • Maintaining relationships with personal, institutional, and other like donor groups, so as to maximize repeat giving, and keep said groups engaged in the work of the Coalition,
  • Assist in setting realistic goals for gifts received, and in that, articulate that realism in advisory supplied to the organization's Executive Director in their work relating to the creation of the Coalition's planned appropriations priorities each Fiscal Quarter, for presentation and approval by the Board,
  • Direct management and supervisory responsibilities related to the department's staff, including participation in the; recruitment, hiring, and professional development of said staff.
Role Requirements

An individual seeking to successfully seek the role herein described should meet, or exceed, the following requirements;
  • At least 5 years of experience in non-profit organizational development, donor management, and/or fundraising, at the level of Director, or its organizational equivalent, preferably garnered at a political advocacy or similar entity,
  • The ability to accurately and clearly communicate complex issues and solutions on behalf of oneself and a team,
  • Experience in non-profit record keeping and regulatory compliance, especially as those areas relate to the receipt, and solicitation of, donations,
  • The ability to successfully manage, supervise, and develop others, in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to create and implement complex strategies,
  • A demonstrable commitment to, and passion for, the Coalition's mission,
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in an area of study that can be reasonably assumed to accentuate and compliment the applicant's ability to fulfill the duties of the role, as issued by an accredited institution of higher learning.
Compensation

Given the early nature of the position and the organization, remuneration for this role will initially come in the form of a percentage of gross funds raised per month, to be negotiated in commiseration with the applicant's experience and credentials.

Upon entrance into contract negotiation, a permanent base salary will also be negotiated, to be implemented at a pre-determined trigger point tied to calendar date and funds raised.

Full benefits, including; mental wellness, dental, medical, vision, and hearing will be available by end of Q3 of FY 2025 to all employees.
