What are the responsibilities and job description for the Annual Giving Manager position at The Nightingale-Bamford School?

ANNUAL GIVING MANAGER

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving and Leadership Gifts, the Annual Giving Manager will provide strategic administrative support to the Advancement Office, specifically leading the development of projects and initiatives that ensure the growth and success of the Nightingale Fund across constituencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to)

  • In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving and Leadership Gifts, develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes dollar and participation goals
  • Coordinate the development of strategic solicitation materials in association with the management of a robust annual giving calendar.
  • Ensure efficient mass marketing and communication of Nightingale Fund messaging in support of the School’s mission across constituencies, helping to further cultivate donors and promote philanthropic messaging around donor impact.
  • Cultivate and manage a comprehensive parent volunteer network, strengthening outreach and growing donor participation and dollars. Includes the preparation of training materials, class lists, progress reports, and strategic communications.
  • With the Director of Alumnae Relations as the lead, ensure that the alumnae volunteer network is fully engaged and aligned with the overall goals for alumnae giving.
  • Collaborate with Advancement team members to integrate messaging and create a comprehensive engagement strategy that supports donor retention based on established annual goals.
  • Closely track donor participation and specified metrics across constituencies, implementing strategy for continued growth.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Advancement Services to ensure accuracy of database and donor contact information. Partnering with the Manager of Advancement Services and the Director of Annual Giving, develop reports that track year-to-date progress in areas such as leadership giving, constituency giving, rates of participation, number of gifts, average gift size and year over year variances by constituencies. Analyze trends and identify areas of growth.
  • Develop and execute plans in support of giving days (Giving Tuesday and Nightingale Gives).
  • Work closely with colleagues and vendors to confirm logistics and execution of Nightingale Fund materials.
  • Support stewardship strategy across giving levels and drive meaningful content.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3–5 years direct relevant experience; preferably in independent schools
  • A shared understanding of the mission of the School and a demonstrated commitment to the core principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Must demonstrate cultural competence and be able to understand, appreciate, and work with constituents across varied backgrounds and cultures
  • Enthusiastic, team player who takes initiative in driving projects and timelines
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, volunteers, trustees, donors, and prospective donors
  • Raisers Edge database experience required, with an understanding of fundraising data metrics
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Superb communication skills, both orally and written; an ability to communicate complex issues, as well as to maintain open communication channels with relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to interact with a range of constituents (alumnae, parents, faculty, students) and

            maintain professional demeanor and decorum

  • High level of initiative, proven ability to work independently, good time-management skills, and ability to work within deadlines
  • Possesses a sense of humor and appreciates this trait in others
