Job Description
Family Worker
The Family Worker is responsible for coordinating services for children and families in compliance with standards set by the school district. A primary responsibility of the Family Worker is to connect the parents and the community with the Early Childhood Program.
Responsibilities of the Family Worker include:
· Establish healthy positive relationships with parents and children, and serve as a liaison between the Early Childhood Program and the home
· Be knowledgeable of community resources and be able to help families make linkages to needed social services.
· Work with program staff on developing programs that promote healthy child development and increase parental involvement.
· Attend all scheduled training required for the position.
· Attend scheduled individual and group supervision with Social Worker from designated agency.
· Provide case management services to families served by the program.
· Ensure that parents follow up on health service referrals, and identify health resources for families.
· Maintain contact with parents to insure student attendance is regular.
· Fully participate in all outreach and recruitment processes, which systematically ensures enrollment of all eligible children.
· Provide or ensure linkage with emergency assistance and crises intervention.
· Work cooperatively with community-based social service agencies to assist families in their own efforts to improve the conditions and quality of family life and ensure access to social services.
· Ensure confidentiality of all children and families is respected and upheld.
· Maintain organized records and complete paperwork in a timely fashion.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31,200.00 - $36,874.00 per year
