Summary
The human resource and compliance generalist works closely with the human resources and compliance manager and possesses excellent communication skills, maintains confidentiality, and practices extensive organizational skills. They are responsible for assisting in all human resources tasks, including compensation, employee recognition, training, policy development and regulation, performance management, payroll, and benefits. They focus on employee relations to retain employees long-term and build our employer brand. The human resources and compliance generalist supports their manager with recruitment, record maintenance, and payroll processing and provides clerical support to all employees.
Objectives:
- Assists in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and company policies
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Presents self in a professional manner
Responsibilities:
- Recommends and assists in the implementation of new policies, approaches, and procedures
- Assists with the recruiting process, including posting and pre-screening applicants
- Maintains employee files with updated information and ensure they are stored securely
- Keeps an updated and consistent performance evaluation program
- Assists HR & Compliance Manager in employee training programs
- Assists in processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees
- Maintains annual paid-time-off and sick leave records and reports
- Administers and coordinates corporate benefits program
- Responsible for all aspects of OSHA, HIPAA, and compliance programs
- Learns and practices de-escalation techniques (may occasionally be exposed to high-stress environments)
- Maintains a safe and clean environment
Requirements:
Accurate and efficient electronic data entry
- Proficient knowledge of computers including, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer software
- Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
- Organized, detail-oriented, takes initiative, and completes job responsibilities independently
- Multitask, problem-solve, interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a changing work environment including inside, outside, and loud noise level
- Physical demands of the job will include sitting at a desk or table for extended periods, bending, sitting, lifting, and walking
- Pass a full criminal background check
- Eligible to work in the US
- Bachelor’s in related fields
- Proven history in HR responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications: * PHR or SHRM certification preferred
