What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Clerk position at The Orthopaedic Center?
Primary Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Monitor and Operate Gold Fax and ensure incoming documents are labeled/filed/flowed accurately
- Monitor and import Direct Emails into correct chart daily
- Extract and upload Ultrasound images into correct chart weekly
- Assist with incoming hospital documents are labeled/filed/flowed accurately
- Assist with single sheet scanning
- Assist with walk-in patient request for medical records/CDs
- Assist with miscellaneous clerical tasks, such as copying, faxing, etc.
- Answer phone calls regarding record requests
- Assist with compiling and typing hospital rounding list
- Assist with miscellaneous clerical tasks, such as copying, faxing, etc.
- Answer phone calls regarding clinical requests
- Assist with all other tasks as assigned
Must also possess:
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
- Independent, highly motivated
- Exhibit initiative and self-discipline
- Proven positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas
- Consistently work at a productive pace
- Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes
