The Panther Group, in business for over 30 years, has partnered with an industry leader in the product development, DFMA and manufacturing space who is seeking Electrical / Control Panel Assembly Technicians to join an ever-growing team.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 1st shift - great summer hours!
You will perform a variety of assembly operations associated with multiple electrical and mechanical products. Work is completed according to written procedures, drawings, and established workmanship standards. Products include electrical panels and sub-assemblies with a range of complexity for integration with capital equipment. Examples include, but are not limited to, power distribution panels, motor controls, and other types of electrical control panels.
- Assemble products per assembly process specifications
- Effectively communicate with team members, both verbally and in writing
- Work in a team environment with a positive attitude and support the success of the team
- Assemble, terminate, and wire electrical panels and electrical boxes using the specified tooling and approved workmanship standards, including complete installation into enclosures
- Work with written instructions, mechanical drawings, bills of materials, wire run lists and electrical schematics
- Perform point to point wiring on a variety of electrical panels and power distribution electrical boxes; using company supplied hand tools, such as crimpers and wire strippers
- Integrate sub-assemblies, electrical panels, chassis, power supplies and connecting cables
- Perform co-builds with customers and/or project teams with limited support to learn new product builds and transfer knowledge to other assemblers
- Learn new product builds and transfer knowledge to other assemblers
- Work independently and with groups ranging from 2-8 people
- Work with Engineering and Quality Control relating to assembly requirements, workmanship standards and customer product specifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED, with 2 years experience, prefer technical school or equivalent experience
- Good communication skills (English), both written and verbal. · Strong attention to detail, focus, and highest standards for quality. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience wiring electrical panels and/or electrical sub-assemblies. ·
- Experience with hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, tape measures, wrenches, and torque wrenches
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical wiring work
- Has worked on large scale capital equipment a plus
- Able to analyze problems and offer solutions
ADDITIONALLY:
- You understand good documentation practices (GDP's), good manufacturing practices (GMP's) and ability to read standard operating procedures (SOP's)
- You might be familiar with ISO9001 and AS9100D standards of the workplace with a commitment to producing products of the highest quality
- You have relevant manufacturing of experience 1 years i.e medical device, electronics, robotics, for example)
- Vocational/electronics/mechanical/technical education is a bonus
- You have previously worked from written instructions that provide detailed methods and sequence of assembly operations using a bill of materials, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings
- Hand/Eye coordination with some mechanical dexterity is desired
- Automotive or Apprentice Electrician experience great!
