Youll be working with advanced but not fully automated equipment that still relies heavily on human skill, judgment, and expertise.
This is not a run-of-the-mill operator role. We're looking for someone with setup experiencesomeone who can configure tooling, adjust tonnage, and dial in bend sequences with surgical precision. The company is flexible on shifts and is ready to bring in up to four individualsbut at least two high-level setup techs are urgently needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up press brakes (Accupress, Dener, Toyokoki) including tooling selection, stroke and tonnage adjustment
Troubleshoot and optimize forming parameters for different steel types and thicknesses
Operate press brakes to produce low- to medium-volume runs of multi-bend parts
Use calipers, height gauges, protractors, and other precision tools to verify each part
Maintain quality records and ensure every part meets dimensional standards
Train or guide operators as needed; pivot quickly to support multiple machines
Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and ready for next job
Recommended Qualifications:
5 years experience setting up press brakes in a job shop or fabrication environment
Strong understanding of material behavior during forming
Demonstrated proficiency with angle inspection, dimensional tolerances, and feature verification
Ability to read complex blueprints and bend sequence charts
Solid mechanical aptitude and shop math competency
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience training others or supporting machine operators
Familiarity with ERP/work order tracking systems
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quick-change tooling practices
Background in furniture, cabinetry, or other tight-tolerance sheet metal products
