What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reservationist position at The Point Resort?
An original Adirondack Great Camp once owned by William Avery Rockefeller located on Upper Saranac Lake is now accepting applications for a Full Time Reservationist.
Primary Duties:
- Take reservations from prospective guests and provide confirmation letters and documentation for all confirmed reservations.
- Assist in concierge duties both pre-arrival and during guests' stays.
- Assist in handling phone traffic and taking messages / transferring calls when necessary.
- Provide guest services within The Gallery (gift shop) and assist guests in purchases.
- Return lost and found items to guests
- Process cancellations as necessary
- Assist in company mailings
- Maintain an accurate tape chart
- Maintain an accurate waitlist
- Provide Daily/Weekly/Monthly Front Office Reports to management as outlined within the monthly schedule
- Assist in access control of the property by screening guest/visitor/vendor entries through the front gate
- Advise guests of available activities
- Maintain Forbes 5 Star and Relais & Chateaux Standards as provided
Secondary Responsibilities:
· Serve guests upon receiving requests / assist guests with questions about the property.
· Assist other departments or in property initiatives based on direction from management.
· Practice an honest and transparent culture with other staff and managers.
· Come to work prepared every day.
· Understand and practice excellent time management.
Applicants will be expected to be well-groomed at all times, have excellent communication skills, pride themselves in a willingness to serve guests with outstanding guest service as well as be available to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.
As a member of the Front Office, you will be part of a team that secures and distributes information throughout the property. Answering, directing, and recording phone calls will be a vital part of your daily tasks. As a Forbes 5-Star property as well as an exclusive Relais and Chateaux Resort you will also be in daily contact with our guests. Duties such as arranging appointments, concierge duties, handling phone traffic, and keeping the office organized and clean will be a major part of your work.
A graduated compensation scale that increases rapidly based on training in addition to possible benefits and a significant new hire bonus is part of this position.
There are a limited number of openings and applications will only be considered if you are within reasonable driving distance to the property or able to relocate to the area immediately.
