What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Exercise Physiologist position at The Richland Hospital?
The Richland Hospital & Clinics is looking for a team member to join our Rehab Department and go above and beyond to deliver outstanding personalized care in the role of Clinical Exercise Physiologist. This position is 1.0FTE (40 hours per week) and will be responsible for providing direct patient care in a primarily outpatient and combination direct access/referral-based setting.
The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for directing and coordinating the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs as well as stress testing. This includes assessment and evaluation of cognitive social, functional and psychological status. The EP develops an individual treatment plan, adjusts exercise prescriptions as indicated and assesses patient’s response to treatment.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
- Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, with a concentration in clinical Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab.
- Advanced coursework in cardiovascular/pulmonary physiology/pathology, cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise testing, prescription and ECG interpretation necessary to perform duties.
- Completion of an internship in a Cardiopulmonary Rehab program.
Credential/Licensure Required:
- Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as an ACSM-EP or ACSM-CEP within one year of hire.
Certification Required:
- CPR
- ACLS
