Substitute Teacher
Location: The Riverside Church in the City of New York (New York, NY)
Reports to: Head of Weekday School
Department: Weekday School
Scheduled Work Week: 9:00am to 2:00pm
Salary Range: $25 an hour
Job Summary:
Substitute teacher needed basis to cover classrooms when regular teachers are absent who will aid in daily routines, support classroom activities and ensure the safety of all students in a small preschool/kindergarten school.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supporting classroom teachers in daily activities as well as cover for team members during absences or breaks.
- Must ensure safety and maintain general health for all students.
- Must be comfortable with assisting mealtimes, toileting and rest time.
- Comply with all rules and regulations of the Weekday School at Riverside Church and local, state and national agencies.
- Maintain an overall professional appearance.
- Able to participate in physical activities throughout the day.
Qualifications:
- Early childhood experience is needed
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the ethics of good character, humility, and servant leadership.
- Solid commitment to the success and well-being of children
- Satisfactory drug test and satisfactory background check for criminal and child protective findings.
