TITLE: PARALEGAL - LITIGATION
Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.
- Support General Corporate Litigation, white collar defense, and investigations.
- Conduct thorough legal research using online databases and legal resources to support case preparation.
- Draft legal documents such as complaints, pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements, including TOCs and TOAs & Cite-checking and blue booking briefs, redlining, memorandums, white papers, and bates labeling documents.
- Assist with the preparation and management of discovery in eDiscovery platforms, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and depositions.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and compiling trial materials & witness preparation, direct examination, cross-examination binders/folders for depositions and trial
- Research statutes, regulations, and case law to support litigation strategies and arguments.
- Draft & e-file necessary documents with various state and federal courts
- Manage attorneys’ calendar, including scheduling hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Handle necessary post-closing filings and updates, such as amendments to corporate filings and maintenance of corporate records.
- Create and maintain due diligence data rooms, ensure all relevant documents are complete and accessible, review closing statements, and ensure all conditions precedent to closing are satisfied.
Requirements:
- Paralegal experience at a law firm.
- Experience filing within electronic court systems
- Experience drafting notices & subpoenas, drafting responses to discovery
- Proven track record of success in supporting complex litigation cases.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or related field
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program – preferred but not required
